Our story

It started with a summer, our kids, and a dog who would not stop wagging.

Every summer, our backyard turns into the same happy chaos. The kids and the dog chase each other through the grass until everyone collapses, sandy and grinning. It is our favorite time of year. But one summer, a small worry started to creep in.

To keep fleas and ticks away, we had been reaching for the usual chemical treatments. And every time our kids buried their hands in the dog's fur, then did what kids always do and put those hands straight in their mouths, we felt a little knot in our stomach. What exactly were we putting on our dog, and what was ending up on our children?

The more we thought about it, the less it sat right with us. We did not want to choose between caring for our dog and feeling easy about what our kids were touching all day. We wanted something gentler. Something we would feel good about whether it ended up on paws, on fur, or on little hands.

So we decided to make it ourselves.

Pawfies began with a simple wish: a more natural way to care for the dogs we love, made from plant-based essential oils instead of harsh chemicals. Ingredients we recognize. Ingredients we are happy to have around our own family.
